Due to the limitation of this release, many of us were eager to scoop them up via resellers. While buyer markets such as eBay might be filled with overpriced Moonrocks, they’re also a lot of FAKE pairs floating around.

Fake Education was able to break down all the differences between real and fake pairs to help you from not getting burned and knowing what to look for. Check out the full comparison below.

adidas Logo

“The adidas logo is not has heavily embossed and detailed into the suede panel on the fakes. Also the suede panel on the fakes is a different color clearly and has a different shape.”

YZY Logo

“The “YZY” logo on the suede panel of the fakes is not as detailed or heavily embossed into the suede. Once again shape and craftsmanship is off on the fakes as well. The color of the suede panel is off too.”

Back Heel

“Usually is a difference with the back heel area/tab. But not with the moon rocks.”

Angle of Heel Tab

“Most defining flaw is the placement and angle of the heel tab on the fakes. It is significantly higher and closer to the ankle collar.”

Outsole

“This is a look at the bottom of the outsole of the right shoe from each pair. Me and @jcollector23 realized that over 50 pairs of retail moon rocks did not have this. So it’s not like this is just this one pair. To the left of the “boost” pod there is holes on each groove on the fake pair. But there isn’t on this real pair or any other real pair inspected. Yes there is holes on grooves on other places on the outsole. But we did not find them like this on any other real pair. Only the fakes.”

Honestly most of the materials probably come from the same factory and due to the gross overpriced resale of the shoe, I couldn’t blame anyone for buying a fake pair for a fraction of the cost. The sad part is that even the fakes are going for 200!!! NO SHOE is worth 1500 dollars and I mean NO shoe!!!!!

Im about to cop some fakes staring up.

I’d never spend more than 400 on any pair of shoes. That’s my max too.

  • George

As the years go pass people are starting not to care about buying fakes because of resellers and the loops Nike and other shoe companies want you to jump through just to get some shoes

Both of these pairs are real although different sizes. Bad comparison.
